Mandovi River
Panaji, the capital of Goa, and headquarters of North Goa District, is a tiny city that packs in a large punch. The church on the main square, the Baroque architecture, pretty villas, cobbled streets, well laid gardens, statues and avenues lined with Gulmohar, Acassia and other trees and interesting buildings give Panaji a distinctly Portuguese ambience. The city lies along the left bank of Silvery Mandovi River, and close at hand are a bunch of good beaches, perfect for lolling around and soaking up the sun.
